The initial ideas that formed the Shadow line Sequence produced three free standing pieces, a triptych, plus an “after thought” piece over the course of about four months.
When I began Composition 264 I had only the vaguest notion of where I wanted to go next, perhaps the after effect of those focused four months. I recall wanting the next image to be more colorful and more suggestive of movement, but other than that felt no need to really challenge myself.
All the textural elements were on hand from developing shadow line, the figures from catalog and no new image processing approaches were used.
Sometimes exceptional work comes from not pushing and letting the “just do it” aspect of the the process set the pace.
