I had kept seeing this group of photos as I was collecting material for other work. The high chroma blocks of color and back lit figures were impossible to ignore. As with other material in the past, I knew I would do something with them at some point, but what that would be, and when that would happen remained unanswered questions.
When the time came, I felt no need to do anything especially “creative” with them.
Inspired by the simplicity of Andy Warhol’s “Shadows” I decided to let the images to stand on their own strengths. My task became selecting and arranging what I considered the best of approximately thirty five frames.
